Synopsis: Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys), a journalist for Esquire Magazine, was unhappy when he was given the task of writing a brief profile of a man named Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks) who was the favorite star of the children's television show Mister Roger's Neighborhood.

Lloyd Vogel deals with his father, Jerry (Chris Cooper), who left Lloyd and their families when Mrs. Lloyd was sick. Now elderly, Jerry wants to return to Lloyd's life, but Lloyd still carries a lot of hatred.

On that note, Lloyd traveled to Pittsburgh to be able to meet Fred Rogers but at every opportunity, he was surprised by how empathetic Fred Rogers was and how aligned he was with other people's problems.

Lloyd soon realized that he needed more than one short interview to write his work because there was far more about Fred Rogers than he had thought.

And what Lloyd discovered would change his life forever.
