The film In Full Bloom took place in Japan immediately after World War II, at a time when antagonism to the US occupation force was still widespread.
The upcoming light heavyweight title fight between boxer Clint Sullivan (Tyler Wood) from the United States and Japanese defending champion Masahiro (Yusuke Ogasawara) was charged with additional geopolitical friction when bloody references to Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima.
Adding to the tension, the manager named Clint Silas (S. Scott McCracken) who has made a deal against the yakuza betting syndicate who killed that his son will intentionally fall in the ring.
But Clint Sullivan was too proud to participate, holding on to his final pride even if it meant the potential to sign his own death certificate.
Meanwhile, Masahiro mentally prepares for his clash with Sullivan by tracking down the former champion named Tetsuro (Hiroyuki Watanabe) who is covered in his long silence and also secluded in a snowy fortress.
